Life of a copywriter – Ariel Clean and compact liquid detergent campaign
I remember back then after secondary school (high school) an argument occurred between my parents emphasizing on what pathway my future career will be, deciding on what major to study in university..
My mother happily suggested nursing. Advising it will sustain a decent financial security career in society, but my father constantly reminded me to follow my dream on fashion based on his perception watching me design clothes for my Barbie dolls as a child.
I ended up selecting Mass-communication under Advertising and public-relation and landed a job as a creative copywriter. Both my parents still don’t understand what Ad-men do from 8 to 5.
Procter and Gamble have been known for their household name for over 40 years. One of their flagship brands ‘Ariel’ is no stranger capturing the minds and hearts of parents all over the world in delivering a clean wash.
The Concept: The Concept was created based on a client brief to describe Ariel clean and compact liquid as the detergent that doesn’t fade out your clothes fabric, instead it keeps your clothes lasting linger and colour brighter.
The Parrot, Birds, and chameleon were the perfect scenario in the creative to describe our colours never stop talking. No matter where you go people can notice how good and beautiful you look, making you feel confident after every wash.
Working on brands is not just a job, but a hobby. It was delightful working with P&G Africa on its Ariel’s clean & compact liquid detergent campaign creative.
Now when I see my parents having a good laundry day I tell them “You know I was among the team who worked on that campaign across West Africa” as they smile back. #ProudDaughter .
